The last major stop of our Scotland trip, Sterling Castle. It sits on top of a huge rock outcropping, with this 100-foot cliff to protect its back. This shot only shows the top half of the cliff; you can tell from the background how high the castle sits above the surrounding land.

In the distance, but not visible in this shot, you could see a large monument to Mel Gibson, I mean, William Wallace. Freeeeeeeedommmmmm!

I have this same shot somewhere in my archives in my film prints! I love Scotland. :-)

Nice shot!

Nice castle and lovely photo. Is that small black thing in the foreground a light/ halogen?

Very nice photograph. I especially love the varying, contrasting textures throughout the frame: the uneven bricks, the moss on the rocks. This building at sunset must be fantastic.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the black box is indeed a light. We weren't near the castle at night, but with it up so high on a rock I'm sure it's lit up and beautiful in the dark...

Your photo looks almost like a painting. I love how the sky has a gradient of blues.
