Animals: December 2004 Archives
I glanced out the window a few mornings ago as I was getting ready for work and was struck by the stillness of the water in the bayou. It's always flowing one way or the other, depending on the direction of the tide I guess, and I don't think I'd ever seen the water so still.
By the time I'd grabbed the camera, one of the jumping fish had done his thing and the complete stillness had been broken. But I waited a couple minutes and then got this shot of the duck preening himself, with the tree across the way reflected in the water. Yes, the trees are finally starting to get a little color.
JSC has a small group of longhorns that live in a field on-site. Sometimes they come near the fence as they graze, and I shot this -- poking the lens through a chain link fence -- a week ago as I left work. I like the contrast of the longhorn with the industrial JSC building in the background.
