Nature: July 2007 Archives

Just before we headed back to Boston to end our whale-watching tour, this humpback rolled, lifted his fin out of the water, and slapped it. I like to think he was saying goodbye.

While in Boston, we took a whale-watching tour that left from the New England Aquarium. Twenty miles off-shore, we found a trio of humpbacks that came right up to the boat!

I needed various textures for a project in my graphic design class last spring. I didn't use this one composed of tree branches, but I'm sure I'll find use for it in the future.

We went skiing in Colorado at the end of February, and took one day off from the slopes to go snowmobiling. It turned out to be the best day of the trip. We rode all the way to the top of this mountain and the view was tremendous.

This was taken with a digital point-n-shoot and I honestly have no idea what caused the vignetting. Perhaps the fact that I was trying to use a small digicam while wearing big ski gloves. :)
