Sports: July 2005 Archives
I shot this a couple weeks ago, got it ready to post here, and then it got lost in the shuffle until last night. This is another shot that I really liked from the Dallas Disco Triathlon, primarily because of the water splashing everywhere.
This is one of the best bike photos I've ever taken, in my opinion. (Not that I've taken many, but I like this one a lot.) Look at the action! Water everywhere! This was shot yesterday at the Disco Triathlon in Dallas. It was so hot outside; I don't know how the athletes could stand it.
, Hot.
I've never officially met this adorable little girl, but I do know who she is; she's the daughter of Perla and . Gabe is the manager over at , my local running store. He also happens to be one of the fastest men in Houston! He finished 7th in the Houston Marathon this year, and 30th in the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta on Monday. His wife is damn speedy as well. I figure their daughter is genetically predisposed to being a runner. :)
Check his blog to read his race report: "First off, Atlanta has to be the hilliest city in America....The strength-advantages gained from such inclines and declines could be nothing but positive, and I started hating the fact that I lived in Houston..." Heh heh.
I shot the Run Wild 5K yesterday. You'd think more people would ham it up when they see a camera pointing at them, knowing their photo is being taken, but I guess most are concentrating on running, or simply on not looking completely horrible in the picture. Some get into it though. The University of Texas Longhorn gesture is a very popular one here in Houston, as you can imagine...
